The image management module is a central repository of images. This module can be used to store promotional images, logo's and a photographic library. Multiple versions of a single image can be stored against one record (eg. different sizes of the same image and different file formats, eg. JPG, GIF, EPS, PDF, etc).
A JPG image should be uploaded as the key image for the record as this image will act as a preview image that people using the image repository can view prior to opening larger, non-web format versions of the image to ensure it is what they require for their purposes.
Images can be searched by keyword or using the image type (this may be an image format - GIF, JPG, PDF or a categorisation such as photo, logo, drawing, map depending on what image types have been set up by the site administrator) - or by category and subcategory and category.
Administrators can add, edit and delete image types, categories and subcategories, image records as well as adding, modifying or deleting additional (high resolution) images to/from an existing record.
Image types, categories and subcategories are fields that can be used to group common images. Category and subcategory fields are related while image type is a separate form of categorisation. These fields are managed by the site administrator and can be set up to suit the needs of the organisation.
